Directions to Workshop conducted by Bailey Donnally at Lake Forest College

The workshop participants will meet in my office in Room 131 of the Johnson Science Center at Lake Forest College (in the western wing of this building called the Dixon Research Center).

The above map shows how to get to the workshop

I have marked several possible routes.

1)

a)     If you are coming to the city of Lake Forest from the South - On the left part of the above maps, the route marked in blue is along Edens Expressway heading north, which turns into highway 41 and continues to Lake Forest.  You follow highway 41 until you get to Deerpath, then you turn right (east) on Deerpath.

b)     If you are coming to the city of Lake Forest from the North - On the left top of the above maps, the route marked in orange is along highway 41.  Follow highway 41 south to Deerpath, then you turn left (east) on Deerpath.  (Alternately you can get to Deerpath via highway 60, as shown on the map).

c)      If you are coming to the city of Lake Forest from the West.  Take any of the east-west roads (Highway 60, Highway 176, Highway 120, etc.) to highway 41, then go south on 41 (If you take Highway 60, go north on 41) and follow the directions given in b) above.

2)      Follow Deerpath about two miles, passing through downtown Lake Forest, going over the railroad tracks, and going a few more blocks to Sheridan Road.  Turn right (south) on Sheridan Road and go one block to the main entrance to Lake Forest College at the intersection of Sheridan Road and College Road.  Turn left (east) into the College.  The map on the right shows the College campus, and shows in green where to go in the College.  After you enter the campus you will pass between two large buildings (large by Lake Forest Standards) and almost straight ahead you will see a circular glass-walled building that is part of the Johnson Science Center.  Enter the Science Center through the door on the western side across from a building with a large smokestack.  On the campus map a green arrow points toward the western door you should use to enter the building.  Come to my office, room 131 where I will either meet you are leave a sign on my door directing you to the proper room.

3)     An alternate route marked in the left map in red is the approach from the south via Sheridan Road. You simply follow Sheridan Road north through Highland Park, through Highwood, past Fort Sheridan until you get in Lake Forest. Then in Lake Forest you continue on Sheridan Road until you get to College Road, which is the main entrance to Lake Forest College.  If you have not been along Sheridan Road as far as Lake Forest, you should be warned that it takes many twists and turns along the way north and you must keep a sharp eye to keep from getting off the route.  Carry extra food and water in case you get lost.  Sheridan Road is supposed to be patrolled for lost visitors by a large, hairy dog with a cask around his neck, but in truth he can do little for you except lick your face lovingly.  The main entrance to Lake Forest College is at the intersection of Sheridan Road and College Road.  The above map on the right shows the College campus, and shows in green where to go in the College.  After you enter the campus you will pass between two large buildings (large by Lake Forest Standards) and almost straight ahead you will see a circular glass-walled building that is part of the Johnson Science Center.  Enter the Science Center through the door on the western side across the road from a building with a large smokestack.  On the campus map a green arrow points toward the western door you should use to enter the building.  Come to my office, room 131 where I will either meet you are leave a sign on my door directing you to the proper room.
