Ann Gebhardt '93
Ann Gebhardt grew up in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and attended Goodrich High School, where she played volleyball, basketball, and softball and graduated in 1989. As a junior she was the basketball team’s captain and MVP while earning all-conference honors. She accomplished that feat the following year in all three sports and was an All-State selection in basketball.

Gebhardt enrolled at Lake Forest College in the fall of 1989 and began one of the most successful basketball careers in the program’s history. She was named the team’s Most Improved Player as a freshman and both Captain and Most Valuable Player her final two years. She was named First Team All-Midwest Athletic Conference for Women and American Women’s Sports Federation Fourth Team All-American both her junior and senior seasons while also earning Academic All-MACW honors. She helped lead Lake Forest to its first conference title in 1992 and a 72-20 overall record in her four seasons. At the time of her induction, Gebhardt still owned the school record with 229 rebounds during the 1991-92 season and her 72 steals that year ranked fourth. She was also listed among the program’s all-time leaders in points, rebounds, steals, and free throws.

Gebhardt, a Mathematics and Education double major, graduated from the College in 1993. While on campus she was a member of Senior 25 and was active in various committees.

She went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Education from DePaul University in 2000. She has enjoyed a successful career teaching, counseling, and coaching at the high school level and lists the value she has placed on education, both as a student and professionally, as her greatest lifetime achievement.
