Forester Athletic Hall of Fame
Inducted 2006
Cindy Lynn (Hahn) Pederson '86
Cindy Hahn grew up in Beloit, Wisconsin, and attended Beloit Memorial High School, where she graduated third in her class in 1982. She earned Second Team All-State honors in softball and was named the Most Valuable Player on Memorial’s volleyball team. She also lettered in basketball and tennis.

Hahn enrolled at Lake Forest College in the fall of 1982 and lettered in both volleyball and softball each of the next four years. The Forester volleyball team was just 5-17 her freshman year before posting a 54-27 record, including a 10-3 mark in Midwest Athletic Conference for Women play, over the next three seasons. Hahn captained the squad her senior year and earned Team MVP and First Team All-MACW honors. The softball team was 47-36-1 overall and 23-7 in the conference during her career. She was named all-conference as both a sophomore and junior and captained the team as a senior. At the time of her induction she held Forester single-season records with a .492 batting average and 36 runs scored in 1984. Her slugging percentage, on-base percentage, and 13-game hitting streak from that season also ranked among the top five in team history and she was listed among the program’s all-time leaders in career slugging percentage, on-base percentage, runs scored, and stolen bases.

Successful in the classroom as well as on the softball field, Hahn earned the Freshman Letterman’s Award, was listed in the Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the College in 1986 with a double-major in Mathematics and Psychology. After teaching and coaching for four years, she began a successful career in the field of transportation planning.
