Inducted 2002 Colin Lundgren grew up in New Ulm, Minnesota, and graduated from New Ulm High School in 1982. At New Ulm, he played football and competed on the track & field team. Lundgren entered Lake Forest College in the fall of 1982. In four years as a wide receiver on the football team, he caught 106 passes, more than any Forester before him. He also ranked second in school history in receiving yards (1,632) and receiving touchdowns (17) and third in yards per reception (15.4). His best season came as a senior in 1985 when he set school records for receptions (59) and receiving yards (947). He also matched a school record with three touchdown receptions in a game and recorded the second-highest single-game receiving yardage total (240) in school history en route to being named a Pizza Hut Third Team All-American. While at Lake Forest College, Lundgren served as a head resident, was a member of the Committee on Minority Retention, and was a member and treasurer of a local fraternity. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, graduated magna cum laude, and received the Edward H. Oppenheimer Memorial Prize, given to the senior man and woman who contributed the most to the College community, and the Solly A. Hartzo Award, given to the top senior majoring in politics. Since leaving Lake Forest, Lundgren has worked as a portfolio manager for a major credit card company. He has also taught Sunday School, served as President of a local church, and coached his three children's (Samantha, Zachary, and Andrew) athletics teams. He lists marrying his high school sweetheart, Wendy, as his greatest lifetime achievement.
