Lee Winklepleck and Charles Evans Named Team's Most Valuable Runners
Andrea Lindblom and Sean O'Connor earn Most Improved Runner honors

LAKE FOREST, IL - Forester head cross country coach Tina McDonie announced her team's special award winners Sunday (December 2nd) afternoon at the Lake Forest College Fall Sports Awards Ceremony at the 1st Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest.

Sophomore Lee Winklepleck (Shaker Heights, OH/Hathaway Brown) was named the women's team's Most Valuable Runner. Winklepleck was the Foresters' top runner in four races this season, including the final two. At the Midwest Conference Championship on October 27th, she ran a career-best 5-kilometer time of 21:03.

Senior Charles Evans (Asheville, NC/Carolina Day School) was named the Most Valuable Runner of the men's team. He was the first Forester to cross the line in all eight races this season and recorded four of the top five 8-kilometer times in the program's history. With his 13th-place finish at the MWC Championship Meet on October 27th, he became the first male Lake Forest runner to earn all-conference honors.

Freshman Andrea Lindblom (Plymouth, MN/Wayzata) was voted the women's team's Most Improved Runner. Lindblom dropped more than a full minute off her season-best 5-kilometer time at the Forester Invitational on October 20th, and then ran 16 seconds faster at the MWC Championship Meet the following weekend.

On the men's side, sophomore Sean O'Connor (Plantation, FL/Anderson) was chosen as the Most Improved Runner. O'Connor's 8-kilometer time at the MWC Championship Meet was more than two minutes faster than his first 8K of the season and more than five-and-a-half minutes faster than last year's personal best.

Approximately 200 people were in attendance for this year's awards ceremony. Awards were handed out to all varsity letter-winners from the school's six fall sports - cross country, football, men's soccer, women's soccer, volleyball and women's tennis.
