LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College Athletic Director Jackie Slaats announced Friday (May 12) that Kelly Parsley has accepted the position of Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coach at Lake Forest College.

“We’re extremely excited and fortunate to have Coach Parsley join our staff,” Slaats begins. “He is a highly-motivated individual and I am confident that, under his leadership, our cross country programs will achieve unprecedented success.”

Parsley started the men’s cross country program at NCAA Division II Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington, Delaware, in 2001 and began the women’s program the following year. The Lightning men claimed Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference titles in 2002 and 2003 and he was named CACC Coach of the Year following both of those seasons. He coached athletes to 19 all-conference performances and a CACC Runner of the Year award in his five years with the program.

Parsley has also been a successful track & field coach at Hodgson Vo-Tech High School in Glasgow, Delaware, since 1999, and was the assistant cross country coach at Swarthmore College from 1997-99.

Parsley graduated from California University of Pennsylvania in 1996 and earned a Master’s Degree from West Chester University in 2004.

“I’m very grateful for the opportunity to be the next head coach at Lake Forest College,” begins Parsley. “I’m also very anxious for the start of the 2006 season and I look forward to leading the program to new levels of success in the near future.”
