LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College cross country runner Charles Evans (Asheville, NC/ Carolina Day School) was named the Forester Athlete of the Week for his performance in the Midwest Conference Championship, hosted by Grinnell College on Saturday (October 27th).

Evans placed 13th out of 101 runners in the race. His 8-kilometer time of 27:16 is the third-fastest time in the program's seven-year history. The school record time of 27:08 was run by C.J. Guillan in September of 1997.

All six of Evans's 2001 8-kilometer times have been between 28:42 and 27:12. He now has nine races among the fastest 25 in school history, including three of the top four. In seven total races this season, Evans has finished ahead of 882 of the 1,107 runners he has competed against, a percentage of .797.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
