Evans has the 2nd-fastest 8K time in school history.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College cross country runner Charles Evans (Asheville, NC/ Carolina Day School) was named the Forester Athlete of the Week for his performance in the Eagle Invitational, hosted by Benedictine University on Friday (October 5th).

Evans placed 34th out of 168 runners in the race. His 8-kilometer time of 27:38 is the fastest of his career by 30 seconds and the second-fastest time in the program's seven-year history. The school record time of 27:08 was run by C.J. Guillan in September of 1997.

So far in 2001, Evans has posted times of 28:42, 28:08 and 27:37 to give him five career races among the school's top 20 times. In four total races this season, Evans has finished ahead of 416 of the 524 runners he has competed against, a percentage of .794.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
