October 1, 2009 Contact: Mike Wajerski, SID Sarah Peluse Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Peluse, a freshman, placed fourth out of 118 runners, leading the Foresters to fifth place out of 11 complete teams in the meet. She completed the 5-kilometer course in 19 minutes and 29 seconds, more than two minutes faster than in her first two collegiate 5K races. Her time ranks seventh in team history, just 32 seconds off the school record. Just one freshman in the program’s 15 years has finished a 5K race faster. Peluse posted the best 6-kilometer time by a Forester freshman the previous Saturday (September 19) at the Falcon Invitational.
