Leann Kimmons Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Senior set school record for six kilometers

Lake Forest, Ill. - Lake Forest College cross country runner Leann Kimmons (Centennial, Colo./Eaglecrest) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (October 12) for her performance at Benedictine University’s Eagle Invitational the previous Friday (October 6).

Kimmons, a senior, completed the 6-kilometer course in 23:54.1, a tenth-of-a-second faster than the previous school record for that distance. She finished 10th out of 147 runners in the race and helped the Foresters place fifth out of 15 complete teams. Kimmons led a full Lake Forest squad for the first time in her career.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. She also earned the award once last season.
