Head Coach Sam Romanoski

The 2010 season will be Sam Romanoski's first as the Foresters' head men's and women's cross country coach.

Romanoski spent the majority of the previous two years as a graduate assistant cross country and track & field coach at North Park University. The Viking squads grew significantly in size and talent during his time on staff and he was involved in all aspects of the program, including recruiting and managing the team's home cross country and track meets.

North Park runners posted eight cross country and track times that rank among the top 10 in school history in their respective events, including the fastest 6-kilometer time in the women's cross country program's history. Viking athletes also claimed three College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Runner of the Week honors.

Romanoski graduated from Loyola University Chicago in May of 2008 with a bachelor's degree in history. He captained the Rambler cross country team to its first-ever NCAA National Meet appearance and was a two-time All-Midwest Regional selection. In track he captured the 10k title at the 2008 Horizon League Championships.

The Lake Zurich native was a Footlocker Cross Country High School All-American in 2001. He claimed three conference championships and a pair of sectional titles and twice finished among the top three runners at the state cross country meet.

Romanoski continues to reside in Lake Zurich.
