Lake Forest Women Place Eighth, Men Ninth for Second Straight Week
Foresters compete at Concordia University Wisconsin's Falcon Invite

MEQUON, Wis. - The Forester cross country teams competed in the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcon Invite on Saturday. Lake Forest's women's team placed eighth out of 15 teams and the men finished ninth out of 14. UW-Stevens Point won the men's competition but was edged out by Carthage College in the women's team standings.

The men's 8-kilometer race was first and includd 153 finishers. Forester senior Andrew Hutchinson (Redwood City, Calif./Sequoia) led his team in 47th place with a time of 29:14. Sophomore Gilbert Reynders (St. Louis, Mo./Chaminade College Prep) was next on the squad, finishing six runners later with a career-best time of 29:28. Junior Tom Plonowski (Gurnee, Ill./Warren) was 72nd in 30:01, freshman Peter Sullivan (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) placed 98th in 31:14, and sophomore Evan Piermont (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) finished 108th in 31:44.

Sophomore Ryann Freeman (Northfield, Minn./Northfield) led the Lake Forest women for the fourth time in as many meets this season. She completed the 6-kilometer course in 25:16 and placed 24th out of 167 runners. Classmate Brecklind Golovich-Keie (East Jordan, Mich./Charlevoix) was next on the team in 46th with a time of 26:50. Senior Sarah Marrinan (Sauk Rapids, Minn./Cathedral) finished 69th in 27:38, freshman Kayla Ahlstrand (Grayslake, Ill./Grayslake Central) came in just four places and 14 seconds later, and junior Martina Kolb (Gurnee, Ill./Warren) rounded out the top five in 77th place with a time of 28:14.

Lake Forest will host the annual Forester Invitational next Saturday (September 27) at Half Day Forest Preserve in Vernon Hills, Illinois. The meet will begin at 11:00 a.m.
