Kahiye Hassan Repeats as Forester Athlete of the Week
Freshman ran program’s sixth-fastest time

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College cross country runner Kahiye Hassan (Portland, Maine/Waynflete School) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (September 27) for his performance at the Forester Invitational the previous Saturday (September 22).

Hassan, a freshman, placed fifth out of 123 runners and completed the 8-kilometer course in 26:52, the sixth-fastest time in team history. Lake Forest placed sixth out of a dozen teams in the meet.

Hassan has been the Foresters’ top runner in each of the team’s four meets so far this season and now owns two of the 25 fastest times in the program’s 13-year history.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Hassan also earned the award last week.
