Sophomore placed fourth at Tom Barry Invitational

Dan Hankosky placed fourth in Saturday's meet.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College sophomore cross country runner Dan Hankosky (Orland Park, IL/Carl Sandburg) was selected as the year’s first Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (September 9) for his fourth-place finish at the Tom Barry Invitational in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Saturday (September 4).

The Forester men placed second in the meet just seven points behind host St. Norbert College. Hankosky led the five scorers on the men’s team with a 4-mile time of 22:19, a full 30 seconds faster than he ran in the same meet last year.

As a freshman Hankosky was the top Forester male in each of the team’s meets and earned All-Midwest Conference honors by placing 11th in the Midwest Conference Championship Meet with an 8-kilometer time of 26:46. It was the fastest 8K time in Forester history and he recorded four other finishes in the program’s top-25 all-time.

Forester Athlete of the Week voting is done by the members of the Athletic Department.
