Charlie Thom'53
Growing up in Highland Park, Illinois, Charlie attended Highland Park High School where he lettered in baseball and basketball.

He entered Lake Forest in 1949 and earned four varsity letters in baseball.  An outstanding catcher, Charlie was a four-year starter and was instrumental in the Forester CCI championship victory in 1953. 

Graduating with a business administration degree, he entered the U.S. Army and served with the 840th Engineer Aviation Battalion in Korea in 1954.  Following his honorable discharge in 1955, Charlie returned to the States and helped the City of Lake Forest baseball team win the Amateur Championship in 1955.  He then assumed the position of general manager with W.W. Thom until 1973 when he accepted a position as salesman for Koman/Coremart Company.  He remained with this company until his retirement in 1987.  He is a member of the American Legion and remains active in youth baseball programs.
