Fall Sports Garner 22 Academic All-Conference Honors
Athletes must have a 3.2 cumulative GPA to receive award
  

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Midwest Conference named 21 Lake Forest College student-athletes from six fall sports to its 2003 Academic All-Conference Team. A minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.2 was required for consideration.

The Forester football team led the way with seven selections. Seniors Tony Bertuca (Chicago, IL/Fenwick), Brian Bonnell (Dixon, IL/Dixon), and Andy Shaffer (Wheeling, IL/Wheeling) were joined on the list by juniors David Bleitner (St. Louis, MO/Vianney), A.J. Rodino (Elkhart, IN/Elkhart Memorial), and Nick Waite (South Bend, IN/St. Joseph). Sophomore Soren Johnson (Ripon, WI/Ripon) was also honored.

The volleyball team had four players qualify for the award. Senior Stephanie Metzger (Chicago, IL/Lane Tech) made the list with juniors Amy Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew), Andrea Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew) and Molly Smith (Watsonville, CA/Watsonville).

The men's soccer team was one of three sports to have three student-athletes selected. Senior Reilly O'Connor (North Aurora, IL/Marmion Academy) and juniors Haik Garabedian (Plovdiv, Bulgaria) and John Karner (Gurnee, IL/Warren Township) made the list.

In women's soccer, juniors Erika Koesling (Lindenhurst, IL/Antioch) and Sarah Shepherd (Newburgh, ON/Williston-Northampton) were joined by sophomore Melissa Stevenson (Littleton, CO/Dakota Ridge).

The three men's cross country runners included senior Sean O'Connor (Plantation, FL/Anderson), junior Logan Dick (Tucson, AZ/Salpointe Catholic), and sophomore Will Pittinos (Coral Gables, FL/Palmer-Trinity).

A pair of sophomores, women's tennis player Brittany Richardson (Little Rock, AR/Central) and women's cross country runner Genia Lindsey (Albuquerque, NM/Sandia), also made the list.
