Dave "Jake" Jacobs '59
Growing up in Farmington, Illinois, Dave attended Farmington Community High School where he participated in football and basketball, as well as the music program.

Entering Lake Forest in 1955, he went on to earn four letters in basketball and three in baseball.  In basketball, he was Most Valuable Player his junior year and captain his senior year.  As an All-Conference player three of his four years, he was the first Forester to score over 1,000 points, scoring 1,214.  Jake, a history major, was also a member of Phi Delta Theta, the Homecoming Committee and the Glee Club.  Treasurer of his junior class, he was also a member of the Lettermen's Club. 

Graduating in 1959, he started his long career as a teacher and coach in the Chicago area.  Before settling at Downers Grove North High School, where he was head basketball coach, he taught and coached at Mt. Morris and Adlai Steven High Schools.  His dedication to athletes was also shown in his Sponsorship of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
