Inducted 1999 Donna is a graduate of Forest View High School in Illinois, where she participated all four years in softball and basketball. She captained the basketball team her senior season. A four-year varsity letter winner as a pitcher and third baseman for the Lake Forest softball team, Donna was named the team's captain for her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. She was an All-Conference selection both her junior and senior years - a unanimous choice following her senior season. She was also named the team's Most Valuable Player her junior and senior years. Additionally, she led the conference in pitching her senior season with a perfect 5-0 record and helped orchestrate one of the most remarkable turnarounds in Forester history by leading her team to conference championship in 1983, just two years after recording a 0-16 season. She also helped her team to a 35-24 record and two MACW Division championships during her final three seasons. Following graduation in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry, Donna attended the University of Illinois College of Medicine, graduating in 1989, and became a goard0certified family physician in 1992. She practiced in rural Illinois for six years before becoming a member of the clinical faculty at MacNeal Family Practice Residency. In 1999, Donna received the Golden Apple Award for Outstanding Teaching and was a nominee of the Outstanding Teacher of Family Medicine Award by the Illinois Academy of Family Practice.
