Inducted 2008 Eric Drometer grew up in Glenmont , New York , and graduated in 1988 from The Albany Academy, where he lettered twice in tennis and three times in both hockey and soccer. As a soccer player he earned all-conference honors each of his three years, was selected to participate in the Empire State Games as a junior, and was named the Colonial Council Player of the Year his senior season. Drometer entered Lake Forest College in the fall of 1988 and was named First Team All-Midwest Collegiate Athletic Conference after tying for second on the team in points as a freshman midfielder. He earned the same honor after each of the next three seasons and, at the time of his induction, was the Foresters' only four-time first team all-conference player since they joined the league in 1974. Lake Forest recorded a 36-17-7 overall record and 18-4-2 mark in conference play during Drometer's career and he was the team's Most Valuable Player as a junior. The squad posted a 12-2-2 record and claimed a conference title his senior season and he finished his career ranked third in program history with 20 assists. He also scored 14 career goals for a total of 48 points. While a student at Lake Forest Drometer was a member of the Phi Pi Epsilon fraternity and played intramural hockey. He graduated in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in economics. Drometer later spent nine years as a futures trader and is a member of the Chicago Board of Trade and Eurex Exchange. He then began a career as a project manager in the home improvement industry.
