Ephraim Holmgren '27
Growing up in St. Paul, Minnesota, Ephraim attended Sycamore Community H.S. where he participated in football, basketball, and baseball.

He entered Lake Forest in 1923 and went on to earn eight letters.  He received four in football and four in baseball, and also competed in basketball..

Graduating with a degree in economics, he became the advertising manager at Wood Conversion Company in St. Paul.  He then became the manager of public relations and publications at Celotex Corporation before starting his own company,  E.T. Holmgren, Inc., where he served as president  until his retirement in 1967.  Listed in Who's Who in the Midwest, he was active in the Rotary Club, The American Cancer Society, Boy Scouts of America and the Minneapolis Art Institute, where he served as a board member.

Ephraim also served as a member of the Minnesota Governor's Commission on Constitutional Revision.  He was president of the Advertising Club of St. Paul, Industrial Advertising Club of the Twin Cities and North Central Advertising Agencies.  In 1957 he was honored for his "Outstanding Professional Competence and Advertising Leadership."  He stayed active by golfing, hunting, fishing and traveling.
