Inducted 1981 Growing up in Weston, Massachusetts, Ellen attended Weston High School and was awarded the Theodore Chandler Memorial Award for Athletics. Entering Lake Forest in 1962, Rayner continued her stellar athletic career. In her first year she was the second highest scorer on the undefeated women's basketball team. She captured the Women's Recreational Association's Outstanding Sophomore Award and continued to play varsity basketball and varsity tennis throughout her four years. She also won the badminton championship and was elected vice president of the Women's Recreation Association. After graduating from Lake Forest with a degree in biology, Ellen moved to Alexandria, Virginia where she began a career in Washington, D.C. Most recently, she served as clerk for the Committee on Government Reform and Oversight. While on Capitol Hill, Ellen also participated in the Congressional Softball League, the D.C. Women's Basketball League and motorcycle rally events.
