Thirteen Forester Hockey Players Named to NCHA All-Academic Teams
Nine men and four women qualify for award

  

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association released the 2005 All-Academic Teams Monday (February 28) and Lake Forest had 13 players make the lists. A minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 was required for consideration.

Seniors Cody Brown (Calgary, AB/Calgary Canucks), Robin Charest (Cabano, QC/Hebron Academy), Eric Luka (Berwyn, IL/Fenwick H.S.), and Rob Nerland (Calgary, AB/Kimberly Dynamites) achieved All-Academic status from the men’s team and classmates Michelle Pickles (Crown Point, IN/Chicago Young Americans) and Lindsey Wild (Inver Grove Heights, MN/Rosemount) from the women’s.

Juniors Troy Lother (Beach Park, IL/Green Bay Gamblers), Tyler Steen (Calgary, AB/Calgary Royals), and Cory Wilson (Calgary, AB/Calgary Royals) also made the list from the men’s team. The women’s team had one junior, Erin McGrath (Chippawa, ON/Niagara Rapids), who also earned the award.

A pair of sophomore men, Matt Forsyth (Calgary, AB/Calgary Royals) and Brian Lee (Toronto, ON/Calgary Royals) were joined by sophomore Darby McGrath (Chippawa, ON/Niagara Rapids) from the women’s team as the youngest honorees from the College.

Brown, Charest, Lother, Luka, Nerland, Steen, and Wilson were also on the men’s All-Academic Team last year. Wild and both McGrath sisters were also 2004 honorees.
