August 19, 2003 Contact: Mike Wajerski, SID Pat Dunne Signs Contract With the Chicago Bears
Dunne served as the Foresters' kicker and punter for four years and holds or shares 16 school records, including field goals, extra points, punts and punting yards in a game, season, and career. He has also scored more points in a season and career than any other kicker in school history. His career field goal percentage is tied-for-first and his 50-yard field goal in November of 2002 is the program's longest ever. He earned First Team All-Midwest Conference honors as a punter and was a Second Team selection as a kicker following his first season on the team. His second year as a Forester was cut short due to illness but he returned to form his junior year and was the league's First Team kicker and Second Team punter. As a senior, he not only earned First Team honors as both a kicker and punter, but was also a First Team All-West Region selection (Football Gazette). Dunne is slated to join the Foresters' coaching staff this fall and will work with the kickers and punters. While the Bears already have a solid place-kicker in Paul Edinger, Dunne
will help alleviate some of the veteran's workload. He joins another former
Forester, fullback Casey
Urlacher, on the club's roster.
