Casey Urlacher captained the Foresters to a 9-2 record.
LAKE FOREST, IL - D3football.com, arguably the most knowledgeable follower of NCAA Division III football, released its All-American teams and Lake Forest College senior linebacker Casey Urlacher (Lovington, NM/Lovington) made the list.

Urlacher was selected to the second team after leading the 2002 Foresters to a school-record nine victories (9-2 overall) and the program's first Midwest Conference Championship since 1983. Three linebackers were named to both the first and second teams.

The Foresters' two-year defensive captain led the team with 117 tackles, including 19 behind the line of scrimmage. He also added a pair of sacks, an interception, three forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries, including two for touchdowns.

Urlacher also made his presence felt on offense, where he carried the ball 41 times for 213 yards and eight touchdowns.

Since the end of the season, he has also been named a First Team All-American by Hewlett Packard, a First Team All-West Region choice by Football Gazette, a First Team All-Midwest Conference linebacker for the third straight season, and the league's Defensive Player of the Year.
