Junior linebacker receives third-team honors for 2nd straight year

Casey Urlacher set a Lake Forest College school record with 125 tackles in 2001.
LAKE FOREST, IL -  Lake Forest College junior middle linebacker Casey Urlacher (Lake Bluff, IL/Lovington-NM) has been selected to the Don Hansen Football Gazette NCAA Division III All-West Region football squad. He was named to the third team for the second consecutive year. 

The Football Gazette made 28 first-team (13 offensive, 12 defensive, 3 special teams), 28 second-team (12, 13, 3) and 33 third-team (14, 16, 3) selections for a total of 89 honorees. 

Urlacher, a First Team All-Midwest Conference pick, led the team with a school record 125 tackles (57 solo, 68 assisted). He added 10 tackles for loss (second on the team), two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, two interceptions and 64 interception return yards. Urlacher also led the MWC with 99 tackles (40, 59) in eight league games.

Urlacher also returned 14 kick-offs for 288 yards (20.8 yards per return) and a touchdown. He rushed for two more touchdowns as well as for a two-point conversion.

Lake Forest compiled a 4-6 overall and 4-4 Midwest Conference record in 2001 under second-year Head Coach Chad Eisele.
