Casey Urlacher will wear #32 and play fullback in Hawaii.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest college football player Casey Urlacher (Lovington, NM/Lovington) has been chosen by the American Football Coaches Association to participate in the 2003 Hula Bowl Maui. The game annually features many of the best seniors from colleges and universities around the nation and is attended by various NFL scouts. ESPN will provide live television coverage of the game on February 1 at 8:00 CST.

Urlacher, a Hewlett Packard Division III All-American, was also the Defensive Player of the Year in the Midwest Conference and Lake Forest College's Most Valuable Player. He led the team to a school-record nine victories (9-2 overall) in 2002, the program's first conference championship since 1983, and its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Playoffs.

The linebacker will actually play fullback and wear uniform number 32 instead of his usual 34 in the all-star game. In addition to tallying 117 tackles in 2002, Urlacher also spent some time at running back, carrying the ball 41 times for 213 yards (5.0 yards per carry) and a team-high eight touchdowns.

Urlacher will be playing on the Aina (meaning "land") Team, which will be coached by Larry Coker of the University of Miami, the 2001 National Coach of the Year. Highlighting the squad are quarterbacks Ken Dorsey of Miami and Byron Leftwich of Marshall University. The Kai (meaning "ocean") Team is coached by Mack Brown of the University of Texas and features Heisman Trophy runner-up Brad Banks of the University of Iowa.
