As a Freshman in 1999
Had an immediate impact as a rookie at Lake Forest...led the Foresters in all-purpose yards with 858 (514 rushing, 224 receiving, and 120 kick-off returns for 107.3 yards per game) despite missing the team's last two games (and the majority or a third) with an injury...second on the team with 514 yards rushing...led the team with a 6.9 yards per rushing attempt average.his yards per carry average was the third-highest single season total in school history...third on the team in rushing touchdowns (5), rushing attempts (75), and total offense (514 yards)...long rush of 44 yards...averaged 64.3 yards per game on the ground...caught 11 passes for 224 yards -- both third-best on the squad...averaged 22.9 yards per catch...also returned five kick-offs for a total of 120 yards, including a long of 36 yards...averaged 9.4 yards every time he touched the ball (rush, catch, or return)...scored at least one touchdown in half the games he played...fourth on the team with 30 points scored...twice rushed for over 100 yards and led the team in rushing three times, including his first two collegiate games...led the team with 109 yards (in just 14 attempts) and a touchdown during a 42-14 win over Monmouth on September 18th...rushed 18 times for 110 yards and a touchdown on October 23rd, a 24-7 win at Illinois College...scored two touchdowns during a 56-32 victory over Lawrence on October 16th...the only LF player on the season to gain over 100 yards receiving during a game when he caught five balls for 136 yards (27.2 yards/catch) versus Ripon on Homecoming (October 9th)...282 total yards (87 rushing, 136 receiving, 59 kick-off returns) during the Ripon game...named USA Football's NCAA Division III Rookie of the Week and to the Division III Football Online National Team of the Week on October 14th.varsity letter winner.
