LAKE FOREST, IL -  Lake Forest College football player Casey Urlacher (Lake Bluff, IL/Lovington-NM) was selected to Preseason All-American teams by three publications this summer. Two chose him as a member of the First Team while one listed him on the Second Team.

The first to honor the senior linebacker was Street & Smith's 2002 College Football Preview. The magazine, which was released in June, selected a single Division III team for both offense and defense. Urlacher was one of three linebackers listed.

In early-July, D3football.com followed suit by selecting Urlacher to its first team. The web site also listed just three linebackers on its first team and three more on the second.

On July 18, Don Hansen's Football Gazzette published its 2002 NCAA Division III Preseason All-American Teams. Hanson chooses a first, second and third team, and put Urlacher on the second team. The Football Gazette also lists three linebackers on each team.

Urlacher has amassed 241 tackles from the middle linebacker position during his two-year Lake Forest College career, including a school-record 125 in 2001. Of his 241 stops, 24 were behind the line of scrimmage and he adds three sacks, two interceptions, two fumbles forced and three recovered to his career totals. The second-year captain has also scored 26 points for the Foresters on a pair of rushing touchdowns, a 72-yard kick-off return, a 55-yard return of a fumble, and a rushing two-point conversion.
