Casey Urlacher Signs Three-Year Contract With the Bears
Linebacker-turned-fullback joins older brother

Casey Urlacher now wears #37 for the Chicago Bears.
CHICAGO, IL - Lake Forest College graduate Casey Urlacher (Lovington, NM/Lovington) signed a three-year contract with the Chicago Bears Tuesday (July 29). He had also signed with the team as an undrafted free agent in June to participate in a two-week minicamp before being placed on waivers after its completion.

By joining the Bears, Casey is also reunited with his older brother, All Pro linebacker Brian Urlacher. Prior to the June minicamp, the two had not been teammates since their high school days in Lovington, New Mexico. Now, with the younger Urlacher moving to the offensive side of the ball, the pair will go head-to-head on a daily basis.

The signing also comes within hours of an ankle injury to fullback Tyree Foreman. Urlacher replaced tight end Patrick Hughes on the Bears' roster, which lists Casey at number 37.

Urlacher earned All-American honors at linebacker for the Foresters in 2002. He led the team for the third straight year in tackles with 117 and set a school record with 43 career tackles for loss. He also spent significant time on offense during his senior season, carrying the ball 41 times for 206 yards and a team-high eight rushing touchdowns.
