Urlacher and Dunne Invited to Chicago Bears Minicamp
Duo will try out at fullback and punter, respectively

Casey Urlacher (#34) and Pat Dunne (#7) will try out for the Chicago Bears this weekend.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College seniors Casey Urlacher (Lovington, NM/Lovington) and Pat Dunne (Palos Heights, IL/Marist) will get an opportunity to earn an National Football League contract this weekend (May 2-4) at the Chicago Bears minicamp. The club extended an invitation to attend the camp to both players this week.

Urlacher will be trying to earn a spot on the roster as a fullback. He played inside linebacker for the Foresters each of the last three seasons and led the team in tackles each year. He ranks second in school history in career tackles with 358. He is the program's career record-holder for tackles for loss with 43. He also intercepted three passes, forced five fumbles and recovered six in his career. He was a three-time first team all-conference selection and also earned all-region and all-American honors in 2002

The defensive captain also saw extensive time on the offensive side of the ball in 2002. He rushed 41 times for 213 yards and a team-high eight touchdowns. He also showed NFL scouts a little of what he could do at the Hula Bowl Maui on February 1. He played fullback in the senior all-star game.

Dunne has served as the Foresters' punter and kicker for four years. He is easily the program's most prolific kicker with 30 field goals, 86 extra points, and 176 points in his career - all school records. The three-year special teams captain was an all-conference selection three times at both kicker and punter. He averaged 37.8 yards on 199 career punts and will be tried out at that position by the Bears.

Urlacher and Dunne, if they perform well over the weekend, could be offered free agent contracts as soon as the end of the minicamp on Sunday.

"I couldn't be happier for both of them," commented Forester head football coach Chad Eisele. "Both guys have been hoping for a chance to show an NFL team what they can do and now that opportunity is finally here."

The last Lake Forest College football player to be in an NFL camp was wide receiver Chris Jensen '84, who was in the Bears' camp prior to the 1984 season.
