Jeff Huebner Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Wide receiver set two records and tied another in his final game

Jeff Huebner finished his career as the program's all-time leader in career touchdowns and yards in a season.
LAKE FOREST, IL – Lake Forest College football player Jeff Huebner (Antioch, IL/Antioch) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (November 10) for his record-setting efforts in last Saturday’s final football game of the year.

Huebner, a senior, finished with a game-high nine catches for 171 yards and a pair of touchdowns against St. Norbert College. His first touchdown catch came late in the opening period to tie the score at seven. The 46-yard scoring reception was Huebner’s 18th of his career, which matched the school record.

In the following quarter, the senior broke the all-time school record for most career touchdown catches after he caught a 12-yard pass for a score to cut the Green Knights’ lead to 28-14. His second touchdown catch of the afternoon also tied the program record for most receiving touchdowns in a season (12).

Later in the contest, Huebner caught a 15-yard pass to give him 1,002 yards in the season, which not only is the highest ever recorded by a Lake Forest receiver, but makes Huebner the only receiver to amass 1,000 yards in a season.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by members of the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Huebner also won the award in September.
