ANDY O'HARA NAMED MWC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lake Forest College senior middle linebacker Andy
O'Hara (South Bend, IN/Riley High School) has been named the Midwest
Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Playing in his final collegiate
game on Saturday (Nov.13), O'Hara recorded 12 tackles, including 1 for
a loss of 4 yards, and had an interception. His interception, which was
returned 19 yards into Carroll territory, during the fourth quarter, set
up Lake Forest's third touchdown, which proved to be the game-winning score.
O'Hara led a Lake Forest defense which held Carroll scoreless through the
first three quarters and to 263 total yards of offense. O'Hara had 35 tackles
in his last two collegiate football games.
The 21-14 Lake Forest win gave the Foresters
their first non-losing season since 1986. Lake Forest finished this season
with a 5-5 overall record and a 4-5 mark in the MWC, good for a fifth place
tie and their second straight upper division league finish.
