Jeff Ziemnik Named Forester Athlete of the Week Again
Senior quarterback led team on 96-yard game-winning drive

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College football player Jeff Ziemnik (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (November 8) for his performance in the team’s 26-25 victory at Carroll College the previous Saturday (November 3).

Ziemnik, a senior quarterback, connected on 22 of 34 passes for 243 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in the game. He also ran the ball 15 times for 52 yards and another score. The Foresters trailed 25-20 with 1:51 remaining in the contest and had the ball at their own 4-yard line before Ziemnik completed seven of nine pass attempts for 95 yards to the Carroll 1. He then ran in the winning score with just 15 seconds left on the clock.

Ziemnik led the Midwest Conference with 274 yards of total offense per game, set a single-season school record with 20 touchdown passes on the year, and tied the mark with 187 completions. His 2,328 passing yards on the year rank second. He finished with the highest career completion percentage (58%) and quarterback efficiency (130.4) in team history and ranks among the top five with 344 career completions for 4,256 yards and 35 touchdowns.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Ziemnik also earned the award two weeks earlier and once last year.
