Matt Lawler Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Senior had 12 tackles and three turnovers on Saturday

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College football player Matt Lawler (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (October 16) for his performance in the team’s 20-12 victory at Lawrence University the previous Saturday (October 11).

Lawler, a senior safety, recorded a dozen tackles in the contest, including 10 solos and three behind the line of scrimmage. He also intercepted a pair of passes and recovered a fumble during the Vikings’ final seven possessions of the game.

Lawler leads Lake Forest with 51 tackles and four interceptions this season. He also ranks third in team history with 15 career interceptions.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
