Kevin Carter Named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week
Senior led the team in tackles and intercepted two passes in victory at Monmouth

Lake Forest, Ill. - Lake Forest College football player Kevin Carter (Arlington Heights, Ill./St. Viator) was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week on Monday (October 23) for his performance in Lake Forest’s 12-8 victory at defending Midwest Conference champion Monmouth College the previous Saturday (October 21).

Carter, a senior, played wide receiver his first three years on the team, moved to running back prior to this season, and then moved to linebacker following an injury. Saturday, in his first start on the defensive side of the ball, he led the Foresters with eight tackles, including three solos, and picked off a pair of passes. His first career interception put a quick end to Monmouth’s opening drive at the Scots’ 23-yard line, setting up a short Lake Forest touchdown drive. The second came late in the second quarter at the Lake Forest 6-yard line.
