Andy Heikes Named MWC Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Junior Quarterback Scores Five Touchdowns During 40-39 Loss to IC

LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College junior quarterback Andy Heikes (Palos Hills, IL/Stagg) was named the Midwest Conference co-Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday for his five touchdown performance last Saturday (October 21st). He shared the award with Derek Leonard of Illinois College, who defeated the Foresters 40-39.

Heikes totaled 323 yards of total offense, including 242 yards passing. He completed 9-of-16 (no interceptions) passes and added 81 yards rushing. Heikes scored a MWC season-high five rushing TDs on runs of 2, 26, 1, 15 and 2 yards on Saturday.

Leonard, also a junior quarterback, completed 25-of-47 passes for 291 yards and three TDs. He engineered the game-winning, 11-play, 63-yard drive in the final 1:09 that lifted the Blue Boys to victory. The drive was capped with an eight-yard TD pass to Dan Klendworth with two seconds left in the game. Then, still trailing by one point at 39-38, Leonard converted the two-point conversion on a pass to Dan Holden to lift the Blue Boys to the 40-39 triumph. Leonard also rushed for 12 yards and a first down on a 4th and 12 situation just prior to the TD strike.
