Senior tallied 387 total yards, set school record

Jeff Ziemnik
LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College football player Jeff Ziemnik (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (October 25) for his performance in the team’s 41-19 loss to Monmouth College the previous Saturday (October 20).

Ziemnik, a senior quarterback, completed 29 of 44 passes for 301 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in the contest. He also had 20 carries for 86 yards and a rushing touchdown. His second touchdown pass of the game was also his school record 16th of the season, breaking the mark of 15 that he tied last year.

Ziemnik leads the Midwest Conference with 280.8 yards of total offense per game. His 1,917 passing yards so far this year put him on pace for the second-highest single-season in team history behind the school record of 2,436.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Ziemnik also earned the award once last year.
