Kevin Carter Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Senior excelled in first career start at linebacker

Kevin Carter
Lake Forest, Ill. - Lake Forest College football player Kevin Carter (Arlington Heights, Ill./St. Viator) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (October 26) for his performance in Lake Forest’s 12-8 victory at Monmouth College the previous Saturday (October 21).

Carter, a senior linebacker, was making his first career start at the position after recently moving there from the offensive side of the ball. He led the visitors with eight tackles, including three solos. Carter also recorded the first two interceptions of his career. The first occurred at the Monmouth 23-yard line, ended the Fighting Scots’ opening drive, and set up a Lake Forest touchdown. The second came late in the first half and thwarted a Monmouth scoring opportunity at the Forester 6-yard line.

Carter spent his first three seasons as a Forester at wide receiver and as a key contributor on special teams. He was moved to running back prior to this season and then switched to linebacker following an injury.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
