Senior intercepted a pair of passes on Homecoming

Keith Hanson
Lake Forest, Ill. - Lake Forest College football player Keith Hanson (Fairfax, Va./Vermont Academy) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (October 5) for his performance in Lake Forest’s 23-0 Homecoming game victory over Beloit College the previous Saturday (September 30).

Hanson, a senior cornerback, helped preserve the shutout with two second-half interceptions deep in Lake Forest territory. He picked off Beloit’s quarterback at the Forester 17-yard line on the final play of the third quarter and at the home team’s 10 with a minute-and-a-half to play in the game. He returned his second interception 44 yards and added a total 36 yards on six punt returns.

Hanson leads the 2006 Foresters with three interceptions after pacing the squad with six last season. He has now picked off 11 passes in his career.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. He also earned the award once last season and once in 2003.
