Dan Carter Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Senior became program's all-time leading scorer

Dan Carter
LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College football player Dan Carter (Arlington Heights, Ill./St. Viator) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (October 8) for his performance at Beloit College the previous Saturday (October 3).

Carter, a senior wide receiver, set one career-high with 13 receptions in the contest and matched another with 167 receiving yards. He reached the end zone twice in the first half to tie the team record with 33 career touchdowns and followed up the second scoring grab with a two-point conversion, making him the school record-holder with 200 career points.

Carter became the program’s all-time leader in receptions earlier this year, broke the record for career receiving yards last season, and moved into first place in touchdown receptions as a sophomore. He leads the 2009 Foresters with 40 receptions, 463 yards, and four touchdowns. In four career games against Beloit he caught 37 passes for 512 yards and eight touchdowns and scored 50 points.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Carter also earned the award once as a sophomore.
