Ryan Gallegos Named MWC Defensive Performer of the Week
Junior recorded 13 tackles, an interception, and a fumble recovery

Ryan Gallegos earned his second career MWC Defensive Performer of the Week honor.
LAKE FOREST, IL – Lake Forest College football player Ryan Gallegos (Plantation, FL/St. Thomas Aquinas) was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week Monday (September 19) for his contributions to the Foresters’ 28-12 victory over Beloit College on Saturday (September 17).

Gallegos tied for game-high honors with 13 tackles in the contest. Eight of those stops were solos and one was behind the line of scrimmage. The junior linebacker also picked off a pass and recovered a fumble as the Foresters forced six Buccaneer turnovers.

Gallegos leads Lake Forest this season with 28 tackles. He also paced the squad last year with 80 stops, despite missing one game due to injury.

He also earned the league’s weekly award once as a freshman after recording 15 tackles in the team’s victory over Beloit.

Midwest Conference Performers of the Week are selected by the league’s sports information director.
