rushing after 112-yard effort

Brock Stenberg
LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College football player Brock Stenberg (Grand Haven, Mich./Grand Haven) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (September 25) for his performance in the team’s 28-23 victory over Illinois College the previous Saturday (September 20).

Stenberg, a sophomore running back, rushed for a season-high 112 yards and a touchdown in the contest. His longest run of the day was 28 yards and he was not stopped behind the line of scrimmage on any of his 20 carries. His 11-yard scoring run early in the fourth quarter gave the Foresters a 22-16 lead and his four consecutive carries for a combined 12 yards gave the home team the first down it needed to run out the clock at the end.

Stenberg currently leads the Midwest Conference with 234 rushing yards in three games.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. He also earned the award once last year.
