Gene Waterfall '56
Growing up in Rockford, Illinois, Gene attended East High School.

Entering Lake Forest in 1952, he earned four letters in both basketball and tennis.  In addition to being selected Most Valuable Player, Gene was named to the All-Conference team in basketball during his sophomore and junior years.  Captain of the tennis team his last three seasons, he also served as junior class vice president.  Vice president of Phi Delta Theta, he was also a member of the Lettermen's Club and served on the Homecoming, Forester Day and Christmas Dance committees.

After graduation, Gene, a history and business administration major, entered the paper industry where he worked for Riegel Paper Corporation.  He was eventually named vice president of Paxall, Inc. and president of Circle Design & Manufacturing in New Jersey.  In 1984 he accepted a position with Bemis Machinery, a manufacturer of plastic packaging materials.  He has also served on the board of directors of the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute and served as president of the Boys and Girls Club.
