Jon Iglesias
WEST ALLIS, Wis. - The Lake Forest College handball team competed in the Milwaukee Classic over the weekend (December 1-3). While the team did not find much success in the open singles competition, individual Foresters came out on top quite often in other brackets.

Junior Jon Iglesias (Elmhurst, N.Y.) and freshman Suhn Lee (Glenview, Ill.) upset the top seed in the Open Doubles semifinals before falling to former Forester Dane and Frank Szatkowski 21-12, 10-21, 11-2 in the championship match.

Junior Kevin Jarvis (Chicago, Ill.) and sophomore Billy O’Donnell (Bayside, N.Y.) claimed the A Doubles title with a 21-6, 20-21, 11-5 triumph in the final.

Junior Tom Pfiel (Philadelphia, Pa.) advanced to the final of the B Singles bracket and freshmen Joey Urbani (Bozeman, Mont.) and Brian Connolly (Lemont, Ill.) faced off in the B Consolation final with Urbani claiming a slight 21-20, 20-21, 11-10 victory. Freshman Aimee Ulbert (Des Plains, Ill.) was also a semifinalist in the same bracket.

Finally, senior Lisa Jeziorny (Orland Park, Ill.) advanced to the semifinals in the D Singles tournament.

The Forester men will be back in action January 18-21 when they compete in the Illinois Handball Association Singles Tournament in Des Plaines, Illinois.
