Munson Leads Foresters' Sweep at Milwaukee Classic
Lake Forest players win titles in all four divisions
  

David Munson upset the top seed in the championship match.
WEST ALLIS, WI - The Lake Forest College handball team competed in the Milwaukee Classic over the weekend (December 5-7) and had success at various levels.

Senior David Munson (Williston, VT) knocked off the tournament's top seed, Bob Adrowski, to claim the Open Championship. Munson took the first set 21-12 and the second 21-13.

In the A-Division, sophomore Ivan Ruiz (Los Angeles, CA) defeated Lake Forest alum Jeff Werstein '00 in three games (19-21, 21-18, 11-5) in the finals to claim the division title.

Sophomore Tyler Stevens (Toledo, OH) won the B-Division Championship by defeating senior Garrett Silveira (S. Hadley, MA) 21-11, 21-20 in the finals.

Finally, in the C-Division finals, sophomore Derek Meiring (Carleton, MI) recorded a 21-5, 21-16 victory over Ron Allen to claim the division title.

It was the Foresters first major tournament of the year and its final competition of the fall semester. Lake Forest's female players will be in action again on January 16-17 when the school hosts the Illinois Handball Association Singles Tournament.
