Megan Mehilos Wins I.H.A. Singles Championship
Mehilos defeats England in all-Lake Forest final

LAKE FOREST, IL - A pair of Lake Forest College freshmen, Megan Mehilos (Addison, IL) and Samantha England (Prince George, British Columbia), met in Saturday's (December 9th) championship match of the Illinois Handball Association Women's State Singles Championship Tournament. Mehilos claimed the title with an 11-10, 11-5 victory. 

Both Mehilos and England advanced to the final match by winning their respective round robin brackets with perfect 5-0 records.

In the first game of the championship match, Mehilos jumped out to an 8-3 lead before England tied the score at 10-10. Mehilos fought off several England scoring opportunities before pulling out the 11-10 win.

England ran out to a 3-0 lead in the second game, but Mehilos rallied to win the decisive game, 11-5.

The next action for the Lake Forest handball team will come after the Holiday break when they compete in the Winter Blast Tournament in Bannockburn, IL.
