Megan Mehilos Adds State Double Championship to Her Resume
Mehilos teams with Erika Sove to win I.H.A. Doubles tourney

BLOOMINGDALE, IL - Megan Mehilos (Addison, IL) and Erika Sove (Modesto, CA) combined to win the Illinois Handball Association Doubles Championship in an all-Lake Forest College final. The pair defeated Leslie Boyle (Chicago Heights, IL) and Samantha England (Price Grove, British Columbia), 21-11, 21-18, in the final match. 

For Mehilos, it was her fourth consecutive all-female championship. She will look to make it five straight when she leads the Foresters into the Intercollegiate Championships in two weeks.

At the same sight, the men participated in a highly-competitive doubles tournament. Mike Munson (Williston, VT) and Bill Mehilos (Addison, IL) advanced to the semifinals before losing an 11-10 tie-breaker match to former Foresters Joe Hagen '99 and Shane Conneely '97, who went on to win the championship. They bested another pair of Lake Forest alums, Adam Szatkowski '98 and Mike Bargman '00, in an 11-8 tie-breaker.

In the A Division, David Munson (Williston, VT) and Jordan Fromstein (Thornhill, Ontario) lost in the finals to Jamie Simon and Brian Johnson of Des Plaines, IL in two games. 

Derrick Tiveron (Toronto, Ontario) and Shane Vigen (Edmonton, Alberta) lost an 11-8 tie-breaker match in the B Doubles final to Rick Space and Scott Sutker, also of Des Plaines, IL.

This Saturday the Foresters will compete in their final 'tune-up' before Intercollegiates when the face Lake Forest alumni in both singles and doubles. 

The team departs for Intercollegiates, hosted by the University of Minnesota, on Wednesday, February 21st.
