Foresters Compete in IHA Doubles Tournaments
Stickles and Jeziorny finish second in Women’s Open

DES PLAINES, IL - Members of the Lake Forest College handball team played in the Illinois Handball Association Doubles Tournament over the weekend (February 16-19).

Sophomore Carly Stickles (Ridgeway, ON) and junior Lisa Jeziorny (Orland Park, IL) were the runner-ups in the Women’s Open division. They won a pair of matches before falling in the championship.

Seniors Melissa Peters (Buffalo Grove, IL) and Clare Longfellow (Wilmette, IL) won a three-set decision to reach the final of the Women’s B division, where they were finally eliminated.

On the men’s side, sophomore Kevin Jarvis (Chicago, IL) and senior Rob Burda (Meridian, ID) knocked off a pair of teams to advance to the Men’s B division title match.

Sophomore Tom Pfeil (Philadelphia, PA) and freshman James Zender (Fishers, IN) rattled off three straight wins to capture the championship in the Men’s C division.

The Foresters will be back in action Wednesday through Sunday (February 22-26) at the Unites States Handball Association Collegiate National Championships at the Texas A&M University. Lake Forest is the event’s defending men’s, women’s and combined champion.
