Aimee Ulbert Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Junior was the nation's runner-up in singles and doubles

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College handball player Aimee Ulbert (Des Plaines, Ill.) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (February 26) for her performance at the United States Handball Association Collegiate National Championships the previous weekend (February 18-22).

Ulbert, a junior, was the Open Singles Division runner-up. She won her first three matches while outscoring her opponents 126-37 before falling 21-11, 21-7 in the championship. She and classmate Emily Zender repeated as the runners-up in the Open Doubles Division. They posted a 21-14, 21-20 victory in the semifinals before dropping a 21-18, 21-8 decision in the final.

Handball All-America accolades are bestowed on the four semifinalists in singles as well as the finalists in doubles. She earned the honor for the third time in as many seasons, having claimed the doubles championship in 2007 and reached the singles semifinals and doubles final in 2008.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
