Two Foresters Reach Semifinals in I.H.A. Women’s Singles Tourney

LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College played host to the Illinois Handball Association Women’s Singles Tournament over the weekend (January 14-15) and a pair of Foresters reached the semifinals of the event.

Freshman Carly Stickles (Ridgeway, ON) and senior Danielle White (Monastery, NS) each won twice before falling in the semifinals. Stickles then defeated White 16-21, 21-9, 11-6 in the third-place match.

Senior Michelle White (Monastery, NS) and junior Melissa Peters (Buffalo Grove, IL) also won in the first round before falling in the quarterfinals. White then defeated Peters in the A-Division semifinals before losing in the finals. Peters went on to win the third-place match.

Senior Tina Koludrovic (Darien, IL) eliminated a pair of teammates en route to the B-Division title. One of her victims was sophomore Lisa Jeziorny (Orland Park, IL), who later defeated classmate Lindsay Ross (Springfield, IL) in the division’s third-place match.

Junior Kim Lawser (West Chester, PA) reached the C-Division final and fellow junior Clare Longfellow (Wilmette, IL) claimed that division’s third-place match.

Lake Forest’s men will compete in their I.H.A. Singles Tournament next weekend (January 20-22) in Des Plaines, Illinois.
